Base Camp

Base Camp is LOWA's entry-level adventure designed for campers who are new to the outdoors or want a gentle introduction to wilderness skills. Campers stay at the LOWA shelters at Sojourn, Live Oak Camp's dedicated wilderness area, where they learn the fundamentals of outdoor living in a safe, supportive environment.

Throughout the trip, campers practice tent setup, camp cooking, fire building, and teamwork. Day explorations take them to incredible local destinations including Red Bluff -- often called "Mississippi's Mini Grand Canyon" -- the Pearl River, and other natural areas surrounding camp.

The trip builds toward a culminating campout in the "wilderness" of Sojourn, where campers put all their new skills to the test. It's the perfect stepping stone toward bigger LOWA adventures.
