We want every camper to enter at the level that feels right for them. When choosing, compare these experiences with your camper's interests, size, and skill level. Each trip is designed to be memorable, build confidence, and grow with your child.

Each trip holds 10 adventurers. Join the waitlist if it's full and we may open additional trips.
Trips start co-ed. If signups allow, we may split some trips into single-gender groups.
Have a 1st or 2nd grader? They can get outside with us through Wilderness Skills at summer camp, Adventure Club, or Taste of LOWA.

Taste of LOWA
North Shore Overnight
An introduction to the LOWA experience: cooking over camping stoves, fire building, games, and food on a North Shore overnight camping trip.
$200
Scholarship options available. Summer scholarship recipients get an equivalent amount applied.
Adventure Club Excursions 2026–27
Senior Adventure Club (7th–9th) goes on Saturday; Junior Adventure Club (1st–6th) goes on Sunday.
Woodlands Conservancy Adventure
$20Explore the Woodlands Conservancy in Belle Chasse, where history and nature meet. We will hike 4 miles round-trip through the forest and check out the WWII ammunition bunkers hidden among the trees. In November, we are likely to see migratory birds like wood ducks, hawks, and warblers. Along the way, you'll make your own trail mix! Get to know fellow Adventure Club members and Live Oak LOWA guides on a day full of wildlife spotting, exploration, and fun. Lunch is included.
Muddy trail plan: if wet trail conditions keep us off the trails, we'll head to Barataria Preserve, which offers a boardwalk to explore the marshes and bayous.

Time: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Location: Meet at the Live Oak Office, 3908 Joliet Street. LOWA guides will drive participants 25 minutes to the Woodlands Trail, 449 F Edward Hebert Blvd, Belle Chasse, LA 70037.
LOOP High Ropes Course
$30Reach new heights with your Adventure Club crew at the LOOP High Ropes Course in City Park! You'll tackle fun, challenging obstacles high above the ground, building confidence, balance, and teamwork along the way. With guidance from experienced LOOP staff, adventurers will push their limits, cheer each other on, and make memories worth hanging onto. Lunch is included.

Tunica Falls Hike
$30Head north of Baton Rouge to Tunica Falls, a series of waterfalls tucked into the rolling hills and hardwood forest of the Tunica Hills. We'll hike the trails, explore the creek beds and bluffs, and splash in the water beneath the falls. Then we'll gather for a group picnic in the woods. It's one of the most amazing places you can visit within a couple of hours of New Orleans, and you'll get to share it with your Adventure Club crew and Live Oak LOWA guides. Lunch is included.

Location: Meet at the Live Oak Office, 3908 Joliet Street. LOWA guides will drive participants 2.5 hours to Tunica Falls.
Beach Day at Fontainebleau State Park
$20Join us for a fun-filled day at Fontainebleau State Park! We'll spend the day exploring the park's sandy beach, cooling off in Lake Pontchartrain, hiking scenic trails beneath the oaks, and enjoying a picnic lunch together. This adventure offers the perfect mix of play, exploration, and relaxation in one of Louisiana's most beautiful state parks. Lunch and snacks are provided.
