Wilderness Adventure

LOWA is designed as a progression (Pebble, Stone, Boulder, Mountain), so there's a trip for every experience level. Base Camp (Stone) is perfect for beginners ages 8-10 with no prior camping experience. Boulder trips (Alabama, Tennessee) are open to all ages and involve car camping with short hikes. Mountain trips are best for returning LOWA adventurers or active first-timers. We help place each camper at the level that's right for them.

Trip costs include food, lodging, transportation, specialized camping gear, and all activities. Participants need to bring personal clothing appropriate for the trip. A detailed packing list is provided upon registration.

All LOWA trips maintain a maximum 4:1 participant-to-staff ratio. Our trip leaders are Wilderness First Responder certified and have extensive backcountry experience. We carry satellite communication devices for emergencies and follow rigorous safety protocols.

Our leaders are trained to make weather-based decisions prioritizing safety. Trips may be modified or rerouted based on conditions. We build flexibility into our itineraries and have contingency plans for severe weather scenarios.
